Boek recensies

hover over de recensie om te pauzeren

I received an ARC through “NetGalley” and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is a story in which the premise is that there is alien organization which is overseeing all of the planets and have in place members that are overseeing each planet to make sure that they are not in the process of disrupting the planet. Junior’s growth from dutiful son to someone willing to question the system made the ending resonate long after I finished reading.

Faith Hughes, Goodreads

The Washington Post sequence was one of the most nerve wracking parts of the book. You could feel the danger in every decision, knowing what exposure might cost them. Junior’s determination in that moment made his character feel fully formed, and the brief romance with the president’s daughter complicated his choices in a way that felt genuinely human.

Rebecca Martin, Goodreads

What surprised me most was how personal this story became by the end. Junior’s journey from believing in the system his father fought to protect, to recognizing its limits was handled with nuance. The final pages made it clear that justice sometimes comes with compromise, that realization gave the ending real weight.

Joe, Goodreads

What stayed with me most was the moral ambiguity. Their chemistry is powerful because it is rooted in shared experience, trust, and vulnerability rather than simple attraction. Sam’s internal burdens are equally compelling. He carries the weight of expectation, his past losses, and the responsibilities placed upon him by two worlds. Long running threads from the previous books are tied up with elegance and weight, ensuring the story feels complete without rushing anything.
