‘The Alzheimer Affair’ – A new novel

Peter has announced that he has completed his most recent novel, entitled: ‘The Alzheimer Affair’. This novel is basically a dramatic love story. It involves a CIA field agent assigned the task to destroy the capability of a Russian pharmaceutical company that stole the information on a medicine to cure Alzheimer’s disease from a US company. The daughter of the woman that is a majority shareholder of the company is a well-known socialite and features prominently in high society. Her interaction with the CIA agent when he visits her parents to report on the theft of the data leads her to see the folly of the life she leads for the first time. She falls in love with him. He tries not to show his interest in her because he was advised by the CIA to avoid romantic relationships because of the detrimental influence thereof on his work as a field agent. He suggests that she should accompany him on a visit to a conference on Alzheimer’s disease in Moscow to assist him to infiltrate the Russian company that stole the information on the medicine. While they are in Moscow their problematic relationship reaches its inevitable climax and they confess their love for each other. Their relationship remains problematic however because he is away on assignments for months on end which she can’t deal with. They have a disagreement when she pleads with him to stop the work he does. When he tells her that he can’t, she leaves him and returns to her socialite life to spite him…
