De wereldwijde cyberaanval van 2 juli 2021 vormde de inspiratie voor deze roman. Ik heb elementen van die echte gebeurtenis in het verhaal verweven en me voorgesteld hoe een Russisch farmaceutisch bedrijf het onderzoek naar een revolutionaire Alzheimer-behandeling zou kunnen hebben gestolen. Dit boek is dus deels gebaseerd op waarheid.
Lucy Lassiter heeft alles. Als dochter van Jacky en Bill Lassiter—eigenaren van een van ’s werelds machtigste farmaceutische imperiums—leidt ze een leven vol rijkdom, glamour en constante aandacht.
